Hi.
The playback of AIFF using PCM codec used to work on plexamp for Android using Plex Media Server for Ubuntu. Now it doesnt anymore, like with plex regular app where it never worked.
Can you please fix this?
After the update the AIFF support is broken. It transcodes to opus instead. I want my ears to be Golden, and have no transcoding like it used to work.

Seems the playback works fine when playing tracks and albums, but not through the radio stations?
it shouldn’t make a difference where it is played from, but Plexamp logs taken right after playback would help. My suspicion is that you are missing media analysis on some of your files and thus it’s transcoding.
Yeah. I see it now. Playback is now normal on Plexamp. Just a question. Will AIFF Playback be included in the normal Plex app without transcoding some day? Or is there a client recognition issue? I mean for Android TV (Google TV) and Android phones? Plexamp works properly on the Android phone I have, and doesnt transcodes as expected.
I do playback using plexamp to chromecast. First it said PCM, but the quality was not very good. It said PCM when in reality it was AIFF. Sound logical. But, then this happens, and the sound quality is outstanding . See picture for the details. It somehow switched to this while playing the artist radio. Does someone have a clue how this happend? I will see if I can upload the logs later. It is very good now. But I assume it is a error that turns out to be very good.
That happens to me also. I can confirm this. It happens only when I am casting to a chromecast. The chromecast is causing the music to sound different. Chromecast devices or should I say android os devices, upsample somewhere either to 24bit / 48,000 khz, or do 16bit / 48100. My chromecast device upscales to 24bit / 48100. I dont know why this is. I believe this is on the android os / android tv side. I think the android Os does this. If you check your server when the music is playing to chromecast, the server will say PCM opus, and Plexamp will show PCM 1411.
When I go to Raspberry Pi running plexamp it shows AIFF 44/16 or AIFF 48/24 as it should. To me it looks like Plex and Plexamp are correct and pushing the correct file type, bit rate and frequency, chromecast is doing some sort of thing to the music and upsampling?
