Airplay directly from the plex server

Hello everyone,

I want to start out by explaining the problem I want to solve. In order to play plex on a non jailbroken Apple Tv, you need the following: Computer running Plex server, iOS device, Apple TV. This will tie up the ios device for the entire movie. I want to remove the iOS device from the equation as well as allow Android to Airplay.

So I started writing a service that will run on my server. Right now it can airplay directly to my apple tv. My current workflow to start playing is I use an ugly ios/android app I built to communicate directly to my service.

What I want to do is tie directly into the native mobile plex apps. This will allow you to initiate the airplay directly from your ios or android device. Once the movie starts, the ios device is no longer needed. I am really close to getting this portion to work.

The way I plan on accomplishing this, is register my service as a plex client with the plex server. The mobile app will then have my service as a valid client to control.

Right now I have communication with the plex server half there. I have all the UDP service discovery working as well as the server directly sending responses back to my service. I am stuck on getting the TCP communication working. The server accepts my connection, but is not sending responses. Is there a resource anyone can point me to or a specific part of the native plex client that would help?

Thanks,

Clancey

Actually, I have I go the server to respond. Hopefully I can finish the service soon!
