Airplay Plugin for Plex

Basically all I want is to be able to send to my HDTV vi the Roku from an Idevice. I was hoping a plugin for my Plex server would fit the bill

Wait, via the Roku? Afraid this isn’t going to work, as this isn’t a channel, it’s code that runs on the Mac and communicates with a full Plex client.

Any ideas???

I really dont want to buy an ATV just for AirPlay

You’re in the same boat as a friend of mine - the Roku is perfect for him, except he’s really gotten used to AirPlaying things from his iPad at my place. So far I don’t know of any good solutions.

If something “Airplay-like” becomes available in Plex, I will be so excited. The thought of sending a video directly to plex from my phone or laptop sounds awesome…it’s the one big thing my Roku is missing (got it over the aTV since MKV support is much better).

I see the same behavior. For whatever reason, it appears that AirServer can’t always get access to the screen for accelerated video while Plex is up. Perhaps Mountain Lion’s built-in support for this kind of stuff will help.

I know this  topic is from quite along time ago, but I am running  a version of Airplay. The problem that I am having is w/ the default port=6002 it conflicts w/ a plugin in XBMC. And when I attempt to change it via the settings.py the default port is still used. Also I am running said airplay in the background and am unable via the command line to start and stop the program. I get this error: -bash: stop: command not found

usage: launchctl start . I would like to be able to change the default port and be able to stop and start the program, and I also need info on uninstalling airplay.

Any and all help greatly app.

There are a number of raw code ptotocols to mimic an airplay server, I am actually pretty surprised that nobody has written a channel yet to support this functionality. I would use it all the time.

This is just one that is python based…
