There’s actually an existing feature suggestion discussing how to improve the handling of multiple releases of the same album. That thread is a bit dated but had gained some more votes. I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes.
Unless I’m missing some unique aspect of this suggestion I’ll close this thread as a duplicate.
