Album Showing Up in Japanese Instead of English

So, as I see happens to a lot of people, despite having “local media assets” first and use embedded tags checked, Plex Premium still prefers to jump right to Gracenote. That’s annoying, but this one is totally perplexing.

I have a single by Owl City called Vanilla Twilight in mp3. Two Tracks.

  1. Vanilla Twilight
  2. Vanilla Twilight (Radio Edit)

The title comes in as Japanese, the first track comes in as Japanese and the second track comes in fine.

I’ve tried fixing the match, unmatching and nothing. last.fm doesn’t even find Vanilla Twilight.

I’ve used three different id3 tag to read the tag. No Japanese anywhere. I’ve erased the ID3v1 tags. Nothing. I’m going nuts. I can edit it manually, of course, but that’s not the issue.

I’ve left a screenshot so you can see the fun.

Try this: The Plex Dance
(with music, you can omit step 4)

I’m familiar with it. However, all the music is on a Drobo and moving it out of sight isn’t as simple as it might seem. Thanks for your response!

I managed to kinda, sorta fix it. I just selected Basic Library and all the tags are read. It’s Plex Premium that won’t read the tags.

Just another thing, the basic library is cataloging multiple discs better as well and using my own artwork. The hassle of the Plex Premium library just isn’t worth it. Too bad I can’t convert all of them to a basic library without rescanning.

Are you aware that for a premium library, there is a separate place where you arrange the order of the metadata agents?

Settings - Server - Agents - Albums - Plex Premium Music <-- click on it!
In there, ‘Local Media Assets’ must be on the top of the list

I am, but thanks!
