Alerts log mixing up users and videos being played - aka You're drunk Plex, go home

Something strange recently started happening. Looking at the Alerts log, it has been showing incorrect users watching videos and sometimes mixing up videos.
Examples:
xanthus29 started playing Legion - Robot Jox on device.
user started playing This Is Us - Ghost in the Shell on Plex Web (Chrome).

That’s my user and my device, but I wasn’t watching Plex. Also, it added together a tv show with a movie. Similar situation with the second one. Any idea what the deal is? This issue has persisted through a version upgrade and restarting the server.

I’m noticing the same issue. All the users are mixed up in the alerts log.

Same here! Mixing up everything from TV show, movie, device AND user account. All out of wack! So bazaar! Can support help here?

Are you using the TrakIt plugin? That can cause PMS to think the wrong user is playback the media.

If you mean the Trakt plugin mentioned here on GitHub: https://github.com/trakt/Plex-Trakt-Scrobbler
the answer is no. I have not installed this, nor do I subscribe to this service.
This started happening a few updates ago. The only thing I have done recently with my Plex server is install to a new location on the same drive. Could this be an issue?
Thanks.

Can you guys compare the Alerts page to the Now Playing page and provide me screen shots so I can visualize the issue? I’m not able to reproduce on my end right now.

Ok, I’ll wait until it is actively showing something (Now Playing) incorrectly. But, I believe that both the Now Playing and Alerts pages show the same data, just it is not correct!

Next time you see it, please try to get screenshots. Also provide the log from Plex Media Server at that time so I can compare your screenshots with the logs. Thanks.
