I’ve noticed a few times recently that Now Playing will quite often show the wrong user for things that are being played on the Server. It only seems to affect Now Playing, my PlexWatch notifications have the correct user, trakt.tv shows I’ve watched it (it’s configured to only show my watches and ignore friends) and watched episodes appear to be applied to the correct user after the fact.
So far it only seems to happen for me when I watch via Plex/Web but there could be other instances that I haven’t noticed.
Just updated to 1.8.1.4139 and it still appears to have the issue.
Not just Plex/Web. Had someone watching from a Roku Stick earlier and it identified as another using and said they were using a Chromecast.
This is an annoying bug. I run into it all the time. I notice that it usually happens on my iPhone or iPad. If I leave the app running in the background it will suspend. When I come back to the app and select which user profile I want to use it will very often load the wrong profile.
Let me clarify with and example. I have my admin profile. My wife’s profile and my kids profile. These are all setup as users on my Plex pass account.
I will open the app fresh and log in as the admin. It will work fine. I leave the app and come back to it later. Aka after it suspended on the device.
I log back in as the admin. If I click the menu button it shows I am logged into the admin user profile but the available server list, the recently watched, the on deck list, the continue watching list and resume playback times are all from my wife’s profile. If I start watching a video it will resume where she left off. This is extremely annoying. I have to switch profiles back to my admin profile then it will work correctly.
Please fix this.
