Every version of the new plex experience app on my android mobile has done this but the original app works fine and all other users using a android mobile client work fine with the old and new app. So I don’t think it’s a agent (metadata) setting and nothing is blocking it since it works on all other devices that I know of.
I would suggest signing out of Plex on Device and power down. Power down your server and start up along with your Mobile device. Sign back in.
I have tried that many times I also have another server and it does the same on that one. I will try again right now.
Does your content show in Libraries?
No it does not.
The images are there behind the grey just really hard to see. It must be my phone but I have seen others with the same problem online so not sure what’s going on.
Experiencing the same here on Android 2025.15.0 had the same with 2025.14.0. Signed in and out multiple times and restarted. No joy.
Works perfectly on iOS, Shield etc. on 2025.14.0 only Android seems to be experiencing this. I can also see the artwork faintly behind, using a Kindle Fire HD8 Gen 10. Tried different networks etc. to no avail.
Downgrading to 10.26.0 it works perfectly..
Got this same issue. How did you downgrade version?
I was experiencing the issue with my old phone, a Galaxy S8+ running Android 9. The problem seemed to be related to the Android System WebView, which I think may not be fully compatible with Android 9 or lower for this new app. After upgrading to a new phone, the S25+, the app functions properly on that device. However, it still doesn’t display images correctly on the Galaxy S8+.
me to same problem with my android tv but not with my phone samsun s10.
I am going to flag this thread for review as I haven’t heard much internal chat around older android versions causing issues (but I also haven’t been on all the calls to have full context). Thanks for bringing it up and for giving details here. @Jagmez can I ask you to confirm your app version number here?
pretty quick update here… looks like this one was already identified, fixed, and should be in next week’s release (ver. 2025.17).
I recently updated to version 2025.17.0, and everything is now working on the app. Thanks to the Plex team for addressing this issue and providing a fix.
