All posters and most other images are greyed out on the new app

Server Version#: 1.41.6.9685

Device: Amazon Fire HD 10 Tablet (11th gen/2021) (Model: KFTRWI)
Device OS: Fire OS 7.3.1.9 (Android 9)
Player Version#: 2025.13.0

All posters and most other images are pretty much non-visible, they appear to have a grey overlay or are being displayed with zero contrast.
This happened with the Plex Experience app and now is been happening with the new versions of the main app. Even joined the Beta, but as of 2025.13.0 it’s still not working.

The only images displayed correctly appear to be backgrounds and posters in the downloads list.

Let me know if logs are needed.

Please fix this, the app is unusable at the moment.
Thanks.

Just got the new app on my Galaxy S8 phone. I have the exact same issue, just a ton of grey boxes, even plex’s own content is greyed out.

Just tested with version 2025.16.0, it’s still the same. Images are there but look practically solid grey.

Thanks for the update.

I’ve pinged some folks about this and it’s being looked into, it’s an issue specifically with older Android versions.

Any update on this? Same issue, and the weird thing is my spouse is using the exact same model of fire tablet 8, with the same firmware and hers is working perfectly fine.

Have you tried emptying the Plex apps cache from Settings – Apps, to clear out the grey posters?

Edit: the above is for Android (Samsung) and the menu wording may vary depending on OS version and brand phone.

But SE56’s tip is much faster and universal. :woman_facepalming:

For me, the issue was fixed in version 2025.17.0, I believe it was this change:
[Android] Images barely visible on Android 9.0 and below.

Haven’t tested the new 2025.18.0 yet.

I have tried this, I could maybe try this and a restart of the tablet.
