Managed Users

I logged into Plex server because of a family member saying they couldn’t find their username, when I logged in all my managed users are gone. How can I fix this? How did this happen? Can someone please help.

Thank you

you either

  • deleted your server’s advanced preferences or restored your server from a backup which did not include said preferences
  • joined someone else’s Plex Home (even if just temporary!)
  • clicked on Settings > Users > My Home > [Leave Home] (there is a warning dialog)
  • deleted the wrong server under Settings > Devices (although this won’t delete users, it would only take away what’s shared with them)

OttoKerner, thanks for the possibilities but non of those happened. Got home and logged in and all users were gone, just gone. Clicked on settings > users and only my account is there. Nothing else, so I am at a lose. Is there something I can do to restore the users? Is there some kind of log I can post that would help figure out what happened?

Thanks

I asked about his. Technical crew says a few hours ago your plex account left your Plex Home.
Did you leave a web browser open somewhere, logged in to your Plex account?
Did one of your managed users find out your PIN, so he could change to your acccess level and do this?

Thank you again for looking into this. Some of my users know the account login for setting up new devices, cause to my understanding you have to log into the plex account first before accessing the managed user. Which now I will have to figure out who did what. But I do have one question, some of my family access this server from chrome at work, could they have left home through the plex site or is it only through the settings on the server? Hope I am asking this correctly.

Thank you again for all the help.

Yes, when you load the Plex Web app and you have the credentials of the server admin, then you can wreak havoc from remote locations as well.
