Server Version#: 1.41.3.9292
Player Version#: 1.105.2.269-12a32491
Three libraries, two managed users and admin.
Both managed users and libraries deleted. Rebuilt libraries etc and again deleted with no explanation.
Managed users do not have admin pin. Have tried to watch them to see what they might be doing but nothing seems strange. Cant discuss with them as they are young children and not able to explain.
Unsure why this is happening! Can anyone assist with any thoughts please ?
Logs attached. Thank you

I thought it might have been that I am running a Tautulli instance and purged a couple of things but doesn’t seem to be. Just happened again without any idea of why.
You have purged your Plex Home as well as deleted your server.
Purging your Home will remove all your managed users.
Deleting your server can remove all shares.
Depending what else you purged and how, it might also be responsible for the vanishing of your libraries.
There is unfortunately nothing to bring the Home and shares back.
As for your libraries, you can try and restore an older database file (unless you have also purged the Plex data folder): https://support.plex.tv/articles/202485658-restore-a-database-backed-up-via-scheduled-tasks/
Thank you for the reply. I will not do anything with Tautulli and log the managed user back in again and see what happens.
I only purged Tautulli after the first instance of managed user and libraries being deleted or removed to refresh it.
Managed user is running a stand alone win11 machine with group policy settings so they cant get to any drives and kiosk (shell launcher) to only run Plex. They can only get to IE when initiating a plex login.
I am pretty sure that when i just rebuilt one library and setup the managed user again it all deleted again without me doing anything which is why i am confused as to what is happening. Its been more than once now.
Its happened again but this time only the managed user account has been removed.
What logs am I looking at to determine what might be going on please as I am unsure what to look for and where ?
I’ve had Plex running on this machine for quite a while now, might I be better doing a complete uninstall and reboot etc then start again ?
I can manage rebuilding the libraries. Just wondering.
Thank you for your assistance already. Appreciated.
Is the Plex server running on this same machine?
If so, then probably something is to blame which you did to lock down the machine and/or “clean it up” after the end of the session.
Pretty much anything that touches either the Plex part of the registry, or the Plex data folder has the potential to cause data loss.
Both are stored in the Windows user account area, and not in the global “machine”.
Plex server is running in a user context, not as a system service (by default).
I am unable to give you more than that, because your use case is highly deviant.
Plex server is not developed for that.
Plex Media Server is on a totally different machine incl the actual media folders. I have not had any issues with managed user and that account or all accounts being deleted or disappearing incl libraries until now.
Managed user is on their own machine with the lockdowns and is the only machine and user using plex other than the admin account on android os.
I think this might be one of the the issues.
Why can a managed user edit the ‘Plex Home’ config within the app settings? they can then click on the admin user account name and there is then the option to edit the libraries and then ‘leave server’ button.
Surely this defeats the purpose of having a managed user, just wondering if this can be disabled at all in the app for managed users ?
I can see that this is the reason for the managed user account being removed but not the libraries as per part of my initial post.
Today I reloaded the server from scratch incl paths to libraries.
Windows applications on standalone desktop computers are also up to date.
The Plex Server is running at version 1.41.3.9314. (which is unchanged from original post)
They cannot.
However, if you have added the device with the Plex client, or even your whole local subnet to the input field “List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth”, then all included devices can have free reign and are not verified for their access permissions. Because they are excluded from authentication.

OK, this is getting too hard now to explain.
The last screen shot was the ‘account settings’ of a managed user using the windows plex app.
They can click account settings top right, and then ‘plex home’ in the LHS menu.
From there they can click the admin user and the leave server action is available following ‘you have access to’
Not sure then if this is then a fault. Thanks for your help.
Please look at the settings I mentioned in my last response. Is this input field empty, or is there something in it?
Its empty. Again this is a managed user that can access these app settings.
I will go and refresh that standalone machine by removing the localappdata and see what happens.
Did you insert anything into that machine which is able to control or modify how http requests are made? Like a proxy or somesuch?
Maybe you should think about just installing one of the Plex “desktop” apps.
You should definitely try them and see if they exhibit the same issue. Download links below.
In the case of “Plex HTPC”, the above should be no issue at all, because it doesn’t provide access to many account or server settings.
No i’ve not added anything into the standalone machine. I am using the desktop app and thats the screenshots and commentary I am providing you.
The only thing I did with Group Policy is restrict click access to folders. It does not affect system access.
I’ve even setup a virtual machine and loaded that with only the plex app and same thing with managed user account selected.
My servers is on one machine, media on another, managed users accessing via standalone machines with Plex desktop, version number listed in original post.
