Error setting subtitle offset

Server Version#:9.7.034811
NVIDIA Shield Pro
I have a foreign movie and a proper subtitle file that, when I play the movie on my TV, there is a large delay in the subtitle display.

When I try to set an offset to the subtitles, I get the error “notifying the server of the offset change has failed” and the offset will not “take”. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

The subtitle file works fine on my windows PLEX player and with VLC, the delay only happens when I play the movie on my TV,

Where do you “set an offset”? I’d love to know…

It’s a little tricky- From the movie you drop down then go all the way left to where you pick Subtitles, then go down to the hamburger “…” menu and select it, up to the Subtitles left arrow and select, up to the Subtitles left arrow AGAIN and select it, the Subtitle Offset is one of the options. I hope that makes sense, it’s well-hidden…

Now all of a sudden I’m not getting that error any more and can save my offset. I just love technology…

I guess the first question would be on what player are you talking about? Web player? Cell phone? TV interface?

From the web interface, I don’t see any Subtitles left arrow

On my Vizio TV all I can do is search for and select a subtitle and it just subtitles the video. No controls for setting offset.
