I have created some users for my family members to better share the libraries. I would like to also share the live tv (I use an HD homerun).
It seems you are now able to share the live TV (https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/115007689648-Watching-Live-TV). However, going into my settings I do not have the “Allow access to Live TV” check box. Are there some requierements or limitations for this?
I am using a shield tv server (for spanish tv).
The users must be members of your Plex Home.
Normal ‘Friend’ users won’t get access to live tv.
The checkbox is separate for every user.
You must edit the user, the checkbox is on the Restrictions tab.
Take note what it says:
“Enabling this option will allow this user to access Live TV streams. It requires a library on the Plex Media Server that has DVR configured to be shared with the user.”
Do also verify that you have the latest server software on your Shield.
EDIT: OP you need to access the settings through the plex app (app.plex.tv) in browser for some reason, thats the only place I was able to see the share live tv setting under “Restrictions”
I have added my family to my “Plex Home” as a Plexpass Subscriber. I have shared my live tv with them in the restrictions tab mentioned above.
Using an android app on the local network, I am able to see live tv as my user. Switching over to their user in the same application, and I do not see live TV.
My question - is there an acceptance/setup required on my family’s account? Do they need to also have Plexpass on their account?

Working here. Both in Android mobile Android TV.

i dont think its a matter of the application, since “Program Guide” and the Live section dont even appear on the local server browser when I’m the second user, but they do appear on my main user.
is plexpass required on both accounts?

The live tv for other home users was introduced only recently. Your server software version is too old.

I am not sure what do you mean by “Friend users.” These are users I create from: Settings - > Users → Add User → Create Managed user. I can access the restrictions tab but the “Allow access to Live TV” check box is not there

A ‘Friend’ user is someone with a plex.tv account of their own.

These are not members of your Plex Home, unless you invite them separately into it.
These are users I create from: Settings - > Users → Add User → Create Managed user.
Then they are members of your Plex Home
I can access the restrictions tab but the “Allow access to Live TV” check box is not there
Which version of of the web app are you using?
You must use the one from http://plex.tv/web
