Allow another user to edit media data

I have a library full of home videos so naturally they arent automatically matched with online repositories like the movie database. I would like other members in my home to edit the content metadata such as the titles and posters, without sharing my credentials. I have a Plex lifetime membership but the other members of my home do not, they use a combination of managed user accounts and free Plex accounts. Currently they can play the content without issue, but I cant find a way to let them edit.

And you won’t. Only the admin(you, the server owner) can manage the library.

Seems like a pretty large oversight to the permission features. Are there really zero delegation options within Plex?

Zero.

There are however requests to allow other users to delete content so this request can’t be any more destructive than that.

Allow managed users to delete content (tv shows/videos/movies)

Managed users should be allowed to delete content. For those of us that are not hoarders, content is deleted immediately after viewing the vast majority of the time. If managed users were given this permission, my family members (which are managed users) would be able to login to clients as themselves vs having to login as the admin user. This feature fits nicely into the managed user permissions as mocked up below. [image]

Maybe you can start your own request for it. Remember to check and make sure it hasn’t been ask yet.

Allow Managed User to have admin Privileges (edit/delete)

I would like to be able to give one (or more) of my managed users Admin Rights to be able to edit and delete videos from my library. Normally I would just give them the PIN for the “King” account, but due to the fact that there is photo backup for a few other accounts, so for privacy’s sake…I’d like to limit access to that account to only myself.
