As A Plex customer or non paying customer I should have the ability to play my content that I download without having to login in via tablet pc or phone if airplane mode has been activated or wifi is poor in places.

In hotel with questionable wifi.
You can, just sign out.
No u cant the menu system disappears !
Can you provide a screen shot? When I switch to airplane mode, I’m still greeted with the ability to choose my user. Pick that and I can call up the sidebar and see all my pinned libraries. They are unavailable, but still listed. I also see Downloads which I can access.
If I don’t want to deal with the server being missing, I can go to my account and choose to sign out. I then get the menu to sign back in. I choose Continue as Guest. There is a spinner for a little bit, then a blank home page. I can bring up the sidebar with only Downloads listed.
Edit - Here’s what I get. You can see I’m in airplane mode, not signed in, and Downloads is available.
