How do I watch downloaded movies?

I downloaded several movies from my own Plex server to my phone so I can watch them offline while I travel. How do I watch them? I don’t see them in then download directory on my phone, nor in when I open video player. If I put my phone in airplane mode, the Plex app on my phone doesn’t work, so how do I watch these movies?

Thanks

After downloading those movies you should be able to access them from the Downloads menu in the sidebar. If the sidebar item isn’t showing right away, it might be unpinned and you should be able to find it in the More section of the sidebar

Phone make/model?
Plex app version?

They are in the Download library in the Plex app on your phone. You play them using the Plex app.

Works fine with my Pixel 6a in Airplane mode. I get an error message that the server is not available. I can still reach the Downloads library and play what I downloaded.

Edit: Typing at same time as Tom. :grinning:

Ah. Okay. I had the Download library hidden. I expanded “More” and there they are.

Great. Thank you.

Ironically you might need an Internet connection to watch your downloaded stuff. Because Plex.

You do not. If your device is in offline mode (has no internet), then when you open a client, any pinned sources belonging to your server will show no connection. You can still see all your pinned/unpinned items, including the “downloads” library, and select the item to play.

I use it quite heavily when traveling on planes. The only issue is that on my Kindle Fire, the items somehow get… “corrupted” sometimes and display a “Something went wrong” error. The only fix is to delete the item and re-download it. Probably has something to do with my using a large-but-cheap SD card for storage.

No problem watching downloads on my Pixel 6a in airplane mode.
