Almost Got Remote Access Working

I had some minor success taking my library on the road this past weekend, but ultimately it didn’t really work as I had hoped. A friend of mine has Sonos at his place, but has no library to speak of. He lazily listens to Sirius or some other done for you app at his beach house. I showed up with mine, but the access was spotty. It would work at times and have trouble at others. I connected to his Sonos network and actually played a few songs through his speakers. The issues were that it would only play one song at a time vs a whole album and it would buffer, on every song, like five seconds into playing. It would then play the whole song, but I had to choose another one to get it going again. Also the delay between selection and sound was a good 10 seconds. I have a static IP on my router, but not on my home PC where the music is housed. I port forwarded the number 5000 because the number 32400 was “taken” according to the Comcast app where I was forwarded to actually accomplish forward from my router. I feel like I’m really close. At one point I shared my library with the host’s phone thinking Sonos might work better with it, but he could only see the song I was playing, not my whole library to pick and choose from. We gave up after awhile, because at times I could hit the artist icon with no response and it felt like the connection was spotty. I had no issue getting onto the internet with my phone, but consistently getting at my Plex Media music was kind of an issue. I can’t really tell where the issue is. Does my PC need a static IP too? Are we blaming the bandwidth and connectivity at my friend’s house? Did I set up port forwarding incorrectly? I know there isn’t nearly enough information here, but I’m hoping the intermittently connectivity can rule out a few things. It would be fantastic if it worked correctly. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
