Already downloaded music albums are downloaded again

When i attempt download a music album with Plex App, sometimes a random album is deleted and re-downloaded. I attempt download my entire library to sdcard (7025 songs in 486 albums). I used sdcard workaround to change sdcard interface from FUSE to sdcardfs. My entire library is encoded in opus format

Steps to reproduce

  • Create a large music library
  • Attempt to download all albums one by one
  • Wait until some album is fully downloaded
  • Disconnect from internet before download finish
  • connect again to media server
  • Repeat last 2 steps several times
  • A random album (among fully downloaded ones) will be deleted and re-downloaded

That can happen if all songs from an album haven’t completed. When downloading albums or other things where there are multiple items, there is no guarantee on the order, so doing multiple albums at once, songs could get missed initially. If you allow albums to fully download, this should not happen. If you can reproduce this with a fully downloaded album, please provide the logs and I can take a look.

With partially downladed albums i have no issues, my issue is with fully downladed albums. Above i provided logs reproducing this issue. I edited my post to add missing steps

@anon18523487 This issue happened again today at 15:49 (my timezone is UTC-7) with a fully downloaded album. 0と1の間 by AKB48 was re-downloaded after losing conection with server while downloading “Esencial Mocedades”. Here is my new log

@anon18523487 If i disconnect my mobile device from network while “Initializing downloads” notification appear also can trigger this issue. Is plex for android checking downloaded files when this notification appear?

Yes, it’s checking to see if there are any Download jobs that need to update like a new album/track, changes to playlist, etc.

I see where it is re-downloading that album. The logs indicate the album did not exist previously. I do not see any indication that the app deleted the files itself before downloading these new ones.

I’m wondering, is that album matched properly? Plex uses MusicBrainz and I don’t see that album on there. Although I can’t read Japanese do maybe I’m just missing it.

If it is unmatched, it is possible something changed on your server making this album look like a different album so it removed the old album that no longer exists on your server and downloaded this new one.

Can you provide me the xml info for any track from that album from your server?

After you “get xml” for that track, can you edit the URL in the browser and change /library/metadata/525 to library/metadata/524 and get me the out from that.
