I didn’t have this specific issue but when I had PlexAmp 3.7.1 installed on my Android, there was this downloading loop that was happening even when refresh download playlists was turned off and the only way to stop this was to uninstall and reinstall PlexAmp, coincidentally deleting ALL 4,000 downloaded tracks with it.
This is exactly why I proposed for PlexAmp to NOT lock and gatekeep our music files and have the folder easily accessible for ALL other apps like VLC or another music player and is not dependent on the PlexAmp app.
If one individual file downloaded incorrectly, then we can delete it manually from the folder, force quit PlexAmp and then reopen PlexAmp to do a refresh scan of the files, prompting it to redownload the deleted track.
So just to be clear, when you got the new phone did you do that thing where you sit the two phones next to each other and it copies everything over wirelessly?
My guess is that the Plex app devs didn’t account for that situation, and even though all the files copied they probably have borked permissions or something and the app is throwing it’s hands up trying to read them and eventually is deciding to re-download them.
EDIT: Next steps? I would say you’re going to have to bite the bullet and erase and re-download. The next fun part is seeing if you hit delete, and all that space is still there because it’s not actually erasing the files and you have to restore the phone. Fingers crossed!
For anyone following along, I erased the app. The used space resolved as well, and I have reinstalled and am now downloading fresh. Thanks for the previous forum posts everyone.
