Amazon Drive question

So I just called amazon because I got an invite to try plex using amazon drive and I was looking for the trial. The rep told me as of Dec 31st amazon drive will no longer be supporting plex. Anyone else hear this? I guess there is no point in trying this :frowning:

I have not heard this but given the problems and the VERY poor performance I have experienced it would not surprise me at all.

I know that, as far as I am concerned, Amazon is the only economically viable option for me so if this turns out to be true I will abandon the beta and remove my content from Amazon. I “may” setup a local drive with Amazon and use that with my local server as I do consider Amazon Drive a good deal but that is just an option and most likely I will just use Amazon as an encrypted off site backup. It is a good price for unlimited storage but it is something I will have to think about.

From what I understand Amazon is not an option for new members of the beta anyway.

ok was the reason for not supporting amazon drive because of plex or amazon?

Plex says that Amazon would not allow the kind of access that was needed and Amazon says that Plex was overtaxing their servers. So make your best guess.

My belief is that the Plex Cloud usage is well beyond what Amazon wants their inexpensive service to have to endure. But What do I know. Neither Amazon nor Plex are exactly “sharers” when it comes to this kind of thing.
