Are there plans for plex cloud to connect to Amazon Drive?

I’ve recently moved to amazon drive for cloud storage. Are there plans to support amazon drive?

Nope. A bunch of folks are migrating to gsuite to get unlimited google drives. Personally, I’m using both and syncing between them. The Amazon deal is so good, it’s worth it to me as an archived backup.

Here’s a quote from the Plex Blog on the subject

Amazon Drive have proven insurmountable at this time, so we have decided to remove Amazon Drive for the foreseeable future.

This is a real buzzkill. Amazon’s $60 for unlimited storage is by far the best deal out there for consumers. Are there technical reasons why Plex Cloud won’t interface with Amazon Drive?

There are tech reasons, I’m sure, but beyond what had been posted already, Plex has not given out more info.

Amazon was the first cloud provider Plex tried to get going, but there were too many insurmountable issues. This has been discussed in several threads in the Plex Cloud forum. Here’s the most definitive statement I’ve seen from a Plex employee:

I’ve got a few 3rd party tools that can use different cloud providers and Amazon has caused problems in all of them. Amazon makes you use a “key” in the software to identify the software using the service and when they notice large storage or high throughput on these keys they start to throttle it bad.

Besides that there are other problems as well.
