Hello,
im running a Plex Media Server on my Synology NAS 218+. I have latest DSM version (NAS OS) and latest plex server as well as latest android app on my Amazon Fire TV stick.
If i watch a movie or a tv show from my NAS (or from the plex collection) on Browser, i can see a “Subtitle offset” option, so i guess its not the server problem.
Also, i cant see a subtitle offset option on my iPhone app (also latest).
But, if i watch it on my Amazon FireTV 4K Stick, i dont see that option. I have the latest PlexTV Android app (installed from Aptoide) and i have made a factory reset yesterday just to make sure that its not due to some other Android applications that i have running there (i have Kodi as well).
Have anybody experienced similar problems? Is there any way to have the Subtitle Offset option on Fire TV stick as well (because i have seen comments that it should be working there, too)?
Should be available… however, keep in mind this feature is only available for external text based subtitles. You cannot control the offset for embedded subtitles or other formats. https://support.plex.tv/articles/subtitle-offsets/
Yes, of course, i know that this cant be done when subtitles are embeded.
Is it available only when I have external .srt on the disc, or should it be available when i have them loaded from the internet?
If you download them right to your disk adding them to Plex as Local Media Assets, this should work just fine.
Not sure if you’re referring to some specific plugin or other subtitle source
I don’t have a FireTV to confirm this.
However I found this post that the feature might not fully be available with free (non Plex Pass) accounts on Android based systems – need to double-check if that’s intentional
