Adjust offset option for subtitles not showing up

Player Version#: 9.1.0.32210

Hi, the option for adjusting subtitle offset is not available anymore on the Android mobile or Android TV plex app. I am using .srt subtitle file and the content are “direct play” so it has to be a bug with the plex app. Hopefully it can be fixed in the future update. Thanks.

I can’t seem to reproduce. What version of Android is you phone or TV device running? They are external subtitle files correct?

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Android tv version is Android 11 (latest Shield Pro software update), Android 10 (Chromecast with Google TV) and mobile is Android 12.

Yes I’m using an external subtitle file.

I go to playback settings and the only options showing for me is to choose the subtitle file and subtitle styling but nothing for adjusting offset…

What is your subtitle burn option set to? If set to always then it is transcoded into the video and cant change the offset.

Can you check if the video is being transcoded in the web app dashboard.

That option is set to “auto” and everything is direct playing upon checking.

I just download a subtitle through the search option while playing the tv show and the adjust offset option came up! The file I was streaming already had a .srt subtitle but I guess the offset option only works if you download the subtitle through the plex player

it should not matter where you got subtitle but it needs to be a separate file from the video file.
