Amazon kindle sync and playback issues

Hi, I have searched a bit but have not found issues that are the same as ones I am experiencing.

I have plex running on a local server, several devices connecting to it and all is good. I have created a couple playlist for my kids movies. I have plex pass and am able to sync content to two amazon kindles and the content works when i am at home, connected to my home network.

So as soon as i take these devices offline and expect the content to be able to play on them they won’t play the movies. They show the movies in the playlist but when i go to play it indicates “media not available”, I can manually find some poorly numbered mp4 on the sd card and if I am lucky it will be the video I am looking to play after the 3rd try but that is not the objective of using the sync content feature.

Is there anything i can change on the device or server to eliminate this issue? Syncing content was a major reason for getting the pass. I want to use plex but vlc player will be more reliable.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Amazon Kindles? Do you mean Fire Tablets?

Change the device to offline mode when you want to view the synced content.

Hi Thanks for the response, Yes i meant fire tablets, 5th gen 7 inch. I have tried offline mode. This is when it has the problem. I believe they do play after sync and then switch to offline mode but after a shutdown and restart without an internet connection, they do not play.

Let me test that scenario. I’ll get back to you.
