I purchased plex quite some time ago on the amazon store, with the amazon store closing is plex considering license transferring to play store/app store?

Plex will have to address how it affects the purchase of mobile unlocks and/or Plex Passes.
Just a quick note that the Amazon store is not closing.
On Aug 20, it will no longer be available to non-Amazon devices.
It will remain available to Amazon devices such as tablets, FireSticks, FireTVs, etc.
I don’t have any Amazon device. I bought an app in the Amazon Store because I couldn’t buy it on Google Play (though I tried), I had problems paying there. And now it turns out that I can only use the paid app for six months. Quite an unpleasant situation

The purchase is tied to your app store account. You can download and use on any Android device with the app store you originally purchased it from with the app store account you purchased it with.
Not any Android device, as it turns out… Only Amazon devices…
Yes, as you bought it through the Amazon app store and they drop support for non-Amazon devices.
Don’t get me wrong… I get your disappointment. I just feel this isn’t primarily directed at Plex but Amazon.
They have a FAQ, discussing several issues (from subscriptions to Amazon Coins), insisting this change will only impact a tiny amount of users

no, but either way plex has my money, would be nice if I didn’t have to pay double. (It looks like the amazon version I purchased was in 2014 before they had ad supported apps, so it is equivalent of the current app with ads unlocked)
Might I suggest a wait and see approach?
The Amazon announcement was just this morning (I received the e-mail at 4 am US CT).
Plex is looking into the implications of the announcement.
And nothing happens until August 20th, six months from now.
