Plex media player latest update not loading videos
I made a post a couple of days ago about this issue on Android TV
Here
It was happening with one of my users, but then another one calls me and tells me that the video isnt loading for them and all they see is the blank screen with the orange loading circle.
I asked if they changed anything, they only updated to the latest version of plex (1.14.0.1340-0acc754c on Widnows/MacOS, 8.3.0.18912 on Android and Android TV)
None of these worked, all 4 devices showed the same result, whereas Plex Web worked for them in the same devices (laptop and PC)
Reverting to 1.13.9.5456, and suddenly everything was working again!
I dont know how to revert the android TV to an older apk, but I hope this issue gets fixed.
Anyone else getting this issue?

You can’t downgrade the Plex for Android TV app. You’ll need to recreate the issue then provide logs from the app and your server.
How can I attach logs?
Save as txt and upload?
AndroidTV Log.txt (1.3 MB)
Here is the log from the Android TV.
Let me know if there’s anything else that might help!
Thanks
Can you get me the XML for that episode they tried to watch? 90 Day Fiance - S02E05.

It’s not just this episode, it’s the entire library that’s inaccessible
However, I’ll get the XML once I’m back home. Thanks!
here’s the xml for that episode.

I’m not aware of anything that’s changed, but form what I can see your video file has 23.976 fps, but your Android box is outputting at 50 Hz. This is a mismatch and the box isn’t handling it well. Try turning on the option in the Android app to enable Refresh Rate switching.
@MovieFan.Plex Did that, still getting the same issue
here are the logs after doing the Refresh Rate switching
Logs 21:Jul.txt (396.1 KB)
However, I have to point out that its not just happining on Android TV, it happened on MacOS player, Windows PLayer and android player that were updated to the latest version (8.3.1 for android, 1.14 for the other two)
its been more than a week and I cant seem to figure out whats going on.
Please help
Latest patch broke Plex for Windows, unexpected error being reported across the board

Now, it looks like your Android box is set to output at only 1 refresh rate of 50 Hz so that is being used. Check your box’s main display settings. It’s still picking a refresh rate that isn’t optimal. It could also be the refresh rate is not the issue.
If this is happening on other clients, it could be a server issue. Does this happen only with this show or others too?

From your log, I’m not sure if it’s the way you are getting the log or if this is how your server is actually encoding the name, but the accented e may be the issue.
Edit - Can you retry playing this file again and this time get me the log from PMS?

@MovieFan.Plex I’lll have to check on that, but keep in mind that TV settings have been the same since they bought it, its’ ever been touched

the accented e has been there since the Show was added, I dont think its the issue honestly.

Ok! will do that, however I can’t even see that they’re playing anything from my side, so i dont think it’ll show in my logs.
They can load the entire library with the metadata, posters and everything, but nothing seems to be playable.

I’ve got the same issue. “Unexpected error during playback” whenever I try to play anything — I’ve tried music, podcasts, live TV, TV shows on my server, and media from a friend’s server.

Please turn off Verbose logging in your PMs settings. There is too much information in your logs to identify the problem. Recreate the problem and get me a new log.
@anon18523487
Its not enabled actually, just double checked and its disabled.
I’ll try to disable and enable logging without verbose and try again.
My siblings have given up on Plex and its really sad that I can’t seem to find what is wrong with it.

I have also trried changing the port, same issue. They are able to browse the library but when playing the only get the spinning wheel and that’s it.
Please help me as I am at the end of a brick wall
You still have verbose logging enabled for your server. I see where PMS is being asked to transcode the video but I don’t see it actually getting done. But with all the verbose info, I can’t identify where it is failing. Please double check this and try again.
To be clear, it’s this setting.
