"An error occurred loading this content" an all files but .m4v

I am running Plex Media Server and PlexConnect on an Linux machine running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, 2GB RAM, Intel® Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80GHz, 64bit. I can play .m4v files fine on my ATV but other formats won't play.

  • Your ATV model (2 or 3) and firmware version (found under the ATV settings > general > about > Apple TV software):
    ATV 3, 6.0.1 (6646.80.1)

  • The DNS server set on the ATV (found under the ATV settings > general > network > DNS):
    192.168.1.101

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that PlexConnect is installed on:
    Ubuntu Desktop 12.04 LTS

  • The local IP address of the device that PlexConnect is installed on:
    192.168.1.101

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on:
    Ubuntu Desktop 12.04 LTS

  • The Plex media server (PMS) version number you are running (do not put 'latest'):
    0.9.7.3

  • The local IP address of the device that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on:
    192.168.1.101

  • The PlexConnect version number. If using Github source then a time and date of download (look at the creation date of the folder) and if you are using any testing branch e.g. the Elan/PlexInc one.

  • The content of your 'Settings.cfg' file (if you do not have this file you are running an old version, please update)

  • A detailed description of the issue (the clearer you can make this the better):
    I can access PlexConnect fine through Trailers on my ATV, I see the artflow and metadata but when I try to play any other video file than .m4v, such as MKV, AVI and more, I get the following error message on the screen after brief loading time: "An error occurred loading this content. Try again later". I can play .m4v files fine, and also .mp3 music files. My guess is that PlexConnect is not transcoding the files so only native apple files are playing but all other are not, but I have no idea why or how to fix this.

  • Ensure you post your 'PlexConnect.log' file to pastebin and post the link ('PlexConnect.log' is located in your PlexConnect folder). If possible, follow these steps to create a "more detailed fresh" one:

I have been struggling with this problem for weeks now and I would really appreciate input from you guys!

Try updating your PMS as it is old.
Is your CPU capable of transcoding?

How can i update PMS? I have installed all updates the system could find but it still sais version 0.9.7.3.

And PMS works with my iPad and I can watch all files on it so the CPU seems to be able to handle transcoding.

Managed to update PMS and now all files play fine.
