Just take them one at a time, PlexConnect then PMS preferably :)
If anyone one else can provide any info (e.g. file format and if it was a transcode or not etc) this could help.
I mentioned earlier about avi/mpeg4 files conking out for me, I don't know if you want to test some of them out? My settings are all pretty much default so I don't think PMS was doing any transcoding.
I haven't gotten around to rolling back PlexConnect yet to see where the issue occurred as work has had me running my ■■■■ off but I'll try get on it ASAP.
As a side note, I watched an avi/mpeg4 file the other day and had no issue after a fresh restart of PlexConnect. Same series as the other ones that have been giving me trouble. Sigh.
I am having the exact same issue with 3 AppleTV's, All on the latest firmware 6.1.1.
1 uses plexconnect on a Windows 8.1 machine(my house). 2 uses plexconnect on a Synology NAS(my brothers house). All 3 have tried multiple file types, a range of different tv shows, and they all get "An error has occurred loading this content" a few minutes before the show is set to end.
What exactly do you mean with avi/mpeg4 file? Avi needs transcoding... mpeg4 (as a container) shouldn't - depending on the codecs used. Or do you refer to avi container/h264 codec?
Does it happen every time, even when playing the file from beginning to end without interference?
Or does it happen only after you did some rewind/fast forward/resume/jumping around?
My current idea is, that it is another appearance of a transcoder issue, leading also to the subtitle out of sync (see recent posts about subtitle renderer as well).
I’m having the same issue. Latest Apple TV 3 update on both apple tvs.
It’s not the plexconnect versions as I have tried downgrading. It’s not the PLEX server versions as I’ve updated twice and same issue.
One thing I noticed is the phython screen has some sort of DNS lookup message at the time it cuts out.
Has anyone resolved this?
Further to the post above.
I think it’s happening with transcoded files. When I set to direct play only, nothing works.
I have reinstalled all PLEX systems except the actual python itself, which I doubt is the case.
But that DNS note is odd.

On the Apple TV, the file type is shown as "avi/mpeg4" on the information screen, with synopsis etc.
I do not have such a problem. All my TV Series play with no problem. Here are some details:
- PMS Version - 9.9.10.458
- PlexConnect 0.3-12 (Synology installer)
- DirectPlay (on Syno NAS with ARMV6 processor, which has no transcoding capability)
- 720p / MP4 / H.264 / AAC Stereo (encoded with Handbrake from my DVD colection using ATV3 profile)
The only way i've been able to fix the problem is to pause the show, completely exit plexconnect (go all the way to the Apple screen), then go back in and resume. I was able to reproduce this every time i've tried it.
As for shows, i always use the transcoding option for the subs. Using the latest version of PMS and plexconnect on Windows.
Hey Guys,
The same issue is occurring over at the Plex Roku Forum, they are saying it is to do with the PMS Transcoder
so it's looking like it isn;t an PlexConnect issue. Also PMS v0.9.9.12 is out todays with "miscellaneous crashes"
Rob.
More troubleshooting
It doesn’t happen with MP4 file types as much as with mkv or avi. Still no resolve. Will try v0.9.9.12
>>It doesn't happen with MP4 file types as much as with mkv or avi.
Not as much? Or not at all?
Also, from my post of 14Jun:
>>Does it happen every time, even when playing the file from beginning to end without interference?
>>Or does it happen only after you did some rewind/fast forward/resume/jumping around?
Any one with resilient experience?
For me it happens without interference on every tv episode.>>It doesn't happen with MP4 file types as much as with mkv or avi.

Same here baa but not with every show/episode but hust for avi and mkv
Can you please post what version of Plex Server you are running and if you have problems still with this issue? I am now on 0.9.9.12 and will report back once I’ve watched a few videos.
UPDATE: Cut out even with the new server.
Yup, so I had this happen to me a couple of times on my iPad now too so it's definitely a PMS bug and not PlexConnect. That's good to know at least, right? :)

AVI requeres either transcode or remux, pls remux the avi with ffmpeg into mp4 container and repeat the test.

Hello moody_blue,
As the Topic suggests, this is only occurring at the end of a show, I'm just going to start a spreadsheet when/when it doesn't happen.
What would be the variables we are looking for? For the last two examples the transcode played fine and the no transcode borked out
at the end.
Cheers Rob.
