Very likely it is a transcoding problem. In PlexConnect settings (in the ATV) try to force transcode.
Please use mediainfo to obtain the characteristics of your video and post them here. I'm no expert on that matter, but someone else will handle it afterwards. Also we need to know the model of your nuc, and if you are using cable or wi-fi to connect the nuc, NAS and/or ATV.
My NUC is the smallest model: intel celeron CPU847 + 4GB Ram + Intel HD integrated chipset. On the PC, I have no worries, I can play movies in 720p or 1080p. I use cable to connect the Nuc, Nas and ATV.
This is the mediainfo of my video :

At the moment you are providing very narrow information which assumes it may be a very specific issue. Help us to understand what your setup is by filling out the troubleshooting template and you will have a much greater chance of success in getting the issue solved.
@Arcani01, please provide the info requested by f00b4r. He's one of the experts that may help you. Just for curiosity, why are you not using PHT (Plex Home Theater) with the TV connect to the nuc ? I've always imagined nuc's as a much more powerfull device than "media streamers" such as ATV's and the like.
Your film needs to be transcoded for the ATV3 and your nuc may not be powerfull enough. You can see the specs of ATV3 supported videos here, everything not following these specs requires transcoding.
I use the NUC withe Plex Home Theater on an other TV and it works perfectly.
For f00b4r :
My aTV is an aTV2 withe firmware 6.1.1
The DNS Server on aTV is 192.168.1.11
PlexConnect is installed on my NUC which have the IP 192.168.1.11
PlexConnect and Plex Media Server are installed on Windows 7 64 bits
I use Plex Media Server 0.9.5.2 (IP Adress : 192.168.1.11)
I download PlexConnect in Github at 28.04.14
My Settings.cfg :
I do the PlexConnec.log this afternoon
Looks almost like the same problem i had on my first run with Plexconnect, i had to change the stream settings in Plexconnect from 1080p 40mb to 1080p 12mb . After that i havent had any problems playing any thing.
Mvh bitzorro.
You allso can try setting the stream to a higer Mb but this worked fine for me with my setup on a really old and slow laptop.Looks almost like the same problem i had on my first run with Plexconnect, i had to change the stream settings in Plexconnect from 1080p 40mb to 1080p 12mb . You have changed things in settings.cfg and put in whats looks to be incorrect information eg the ip_dnsmaster setting.
Stop PlexConnect, delete settings.cfg and restart PlexConnect so that a default settings.cfg is created and then restart your ATV.
If you are still getting an issue after that please post you plexconnect.log
Ok, i replace the original settings.py file.
This is my settings.cfg generated when i launch PlexConnect :
And here, my plexconnect.log :

I try to change the stream settings, but you speak about the remote bitrate(2nd parameter) or the transcode quality (First parameter)

You are trying to play an AVI without transcoding. That doesn't work with the aTV, does it?

It would work if it was M-JPEG, but the video is encoded h.263... So it requires transcoding. That's why "DirectPlay" gave the error message "An error occurred loading this content. Try again later.". Back to my assumption, the NUC (via it's HD card) is good for PHT, but since PMS cannot use that card in the transcode process the main processor is too slow for PMS transcoding.
Probably another client (RasPI with RasPlex) would work but not ATV3 with PlexConnect, unless the media is recoded (for example with HandBrake ATV3 profile) into MP4/H.264/AAC.

I try but it's the same result.

I don't understand everything. I have a ATV2.

I'm sorry, I should have seen that in post #9. But the same answer applies, to use the ATV2 with PMS you need either a more powerfull NUC, or recode your films with Handbrake (using ATV2 profile).
Another option, if you can jailbreak your ATV2 (you would have to return back to iOS 5.3), is to install aTV Flash in the ATV2. aTV Flash brings a miriad of codecs that make the ATV2 able to play many more file types.
Is the NUC really that weak?
The files do not need reencoding to play natively, you can use Subler or iFlicks to remux them very quickly.

I took these specs from another post:
Recommended configuration - For transcoding HD Content (720p and 1080p):
A Windows XP SP3 PC with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor 2.4 GHz or better
At least 2GB RAM
This NUC has this processor http://ark.intel.com/products/56056/, which seems less powerfull to me.
Subler and iFlicks are tools for Mac. There are other tools to remux in Windows, but given the fact that the source video is H.263 will that play natively in aTV2 ?
Hmm maybe you are right on the CPU: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/common_cpus.htmlI took these specs from another post:

Caveat emptor on buying the bottom end NUC devices!
In terms of remuxing I think iFlicks does something I didn't expect with AVI files but it has been a while since I used it.
