It is not
New player is on the TV app, not Android mobile devices as far as I know. You probably have a different issue.
You need to post your Log file on the forum. That way the Plex team can see exactly what happened.

Yeah looks the same. Talkign about audio transcoding.
Rumor is your issue is fixed in beta. If you can’t test the beta’s then you’ll need to wait for the official next release. Which is TBD. @mikec_pt may have info on that.
How do I get the beta? I only see the server beta
Thanks - just tried that build and things seem better. Will play with it more tomorrow.
Anyone know what version to install on mibox 3 and mibox s? 7a, 64v8a etc
Thanks
For what device?
New beta version fixes it as well
Shield
It fixed my Android phone on the remote network!
i’m having the same issue, no matter what i try. turn off new play, enable/disable passthrough, change settings in remote access… it doesnt help
where can i get the beta for firestick?
being stuck in isolation / quarantine… its killing me that it doesnt work right
Here u can always find the newest Beta Version. Just use Easy Fire Tools to install the apk via sideload
Unfortunately I don’t have much info other than we should release it soon (unsure of a exact date but best check announcements in forums - Plex for Android - #336 by ManuelPG). However for those who can’t/don’t know how to install apks you might need to wait a bit, we don’t have control over the full process (gplay / amazon store) so for those it might still take a while!
As for the Mi box question the info I found suggest a ARM Cortex-A53 quad-core 64-bit CPU is used in both the devices! So sounds like you want the arm64v8 builds!
Thanks. Shield working perfectly on latest beta, so confident mibox stbs will be fixed
Might I suggest getting in touch with the team to temporarily remove the rollout period to help out with those who are quarantined and can’t leave the house, yes its possible on the play store listing page. Although its easy for most of us to install the beta its not so easy for our users who need help. Rolling out fixes faster right now would be very helpful to people’s sanity. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I see this exact error and I look at the server and a few people are streaming. Its so random it sucks because we are at your teams mercy to release it. Also please ask the team to make the beta builds more visible on the play store listing page.
@mikec_pt @romancamelia The latest beta “Plex for Android 7.30.0.16364-beta” has not fixed my playback issues. My setup is a Sony Bravia TV X950G running the latest Android TV, with Plex running via built in OS. I’m using HDMI to a Vizio 5.1.2 Soundbar.
To summarize, here’s the general formula for my issue :
New Player +surround sound (except AC3)+Passthrough HDMI= error message (so unable to play media)
Old Player + any setting= no error message, everything works fine including all audio formants, including surround sound
Indication is: new player is the problem and the common denominator.
Perhaps Plex is transcoding formats outside of AC3 and stereo? So maybe issue is Audio + Transcoder related in New Player??

Same issues here. All of my clients are FireTV 4ks. I understand that this is being worked on and that I have the option of installing a beta apk to attempt to resolve this issue. Is there a repo with older apks that I can download from? I also am wondering how this type of bug makes it through a development lifecycle to a production build without being identified? While I don’t participate in beta testing I don’t feel I can complain too much but I have a hard time believing that this was missed by other testers since it appears to apply to all android installations. Thanks for any explanation.
