"An Error Occurred"

I've been unable to get Plex on PS4 (or PS3) to work properly. As soon as I start the app and connect it using the Pin, it just says "An Error Occurred"

 

I've gotten it to work twice by creating a new 'Managed User', I was then able to switch to the new managed user and view my library but if I switched back to the main user it went back to the error screen. Then, after a while, I started getting the error screen on the alternate user as well.

 

I've tried re-installing the PS4 app and removing the PS4 from my 'Devices' list in Plex but that doesn't help. I don't have any other Plex-compatible devices that I can test with.

 

Any help would be appreciated. I only bought a Plex Pass for this and it just feels like a wast of money at the moment :(

Sadly, the same thing happens to me with the "An Error Occurred." message. I too bought the Plex Pass just for the use of the app on my Playstation systems. I just canceled it but I will be checking this forum for updates. As soon as it's working properly, I'll definitely be re-subscribing to Plex Pass.

  • Do you see "An error occurred. Make sure server is online and the requested media is supported."?
  • Which version of PMS are you running?
  • Have you tried to optimize your library? We fixing some coarse error handling which could cause libraries which respond with content slowly to cause this error message.
  • I'd definitely like to look at the PMS logs created while you're entering the PIN before seeing your content. Please feel free to send to me via direct message.

  • I'm running the latest one (as far as I'm aware); 2.3.24
  • Ah ha! Optimising my library seems to have done the trick! Thanks for the help.
