PS3 and PS4 no longer connecting to server.

Hey gang,


I was having some issues with my server recognising metadata after moving vast swaths of data around, so I removed (completely, as per that online whatsit) and reinstalled Plex.


It’ll come up through my computers (both Windows) and through both my Android and my wife’s iPhone (either on Wi-Fi or LTE) but when trying to connect to the PS3 or PS4, after I enter the PIN it says “An error occurred. Make sure server is online and the requested media is supported.”


I have my modem all rejiggered for port forwarding for Plex (which solved the issue last time) and my server settings tell me that it’s fully accessible outside my network.


So, to my eyes, everything is set up as it should be, but the PlayStations just won’t talk to the server for one reason or another. Has it stopped recognizing my PlexPass? Any idea what can be done about this? Thanks.

Updates, I've double-checked my PlayStation IP connection and it is the same my server broadcasts to. Still getting the "make sure server is running" error. Could it be a DLNA issue?

I've made exceptions for Plex in both my Windows Firewall and antivirus, with no change in the PlayStation.

Uninstalled & reinstalled Plex on the PS4, still getting the same error.

I've removed both PlayStations from the devices list and repaired through PIN numerous times.

Really hoping there's someone out there in Plex-Land reading this. Using it via the PlayStations is the whole reason I purchased my PlexPass.

Hi cbweaver. That's the error message we display when we've connected to your server but "something" fails trying to load content. We're actively working to make our failures at this moment during startup easier to resolve.

In the meantime will you please try Optimizing your library: https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200392106-Library-Actions?We've run into this error several times, each time the optimize has helped.

hi can anyone help me if open plex on my ps4 it does not want to open. it says sorry, there is a problem connecting. please try again later but never works. i have to delete it and redownload on ps4 then i get a new pin code then only will it work so every time i switch off my ps4 i have to deal with this
