Hello all!
I recently bought a Synology NAS as a home media server and am having trouble playing back some anime files with accompanying subtitles.
I have searched this topic out on Reddit and these forums and have seen multiple suggestions and possible solutions but none have worked for me thus far.
The files run fine for me with no subtitles but when I append subs to the file, I get an error “An Unexpected Playback Error Occurred”.
I have unchecked “disable Video stream encoding” under my transcoding settings, set the max transcodes to 5, set my stream quality to “8mbps 1080p”, deleted and refreshed my codecs and am still getting the error.
The files I’m trying to play are a large reason why I opted for this setup. I’m afraid I’m missing something but a problem beyond a setting would be worse.
I’ve included a fresh copy of my logs with an example of the error reproduced. I
'm assuming the problem isn’t because I don’t have a Plex Pass but if the problem can be solved by getting one, I’ll give that a shot.
Server Version#: 1.30.1.6562 (Synology DS220j)
Player Version#: 5.52.3 / v2.9.1 (PS4 console)
