Android 10 Moto One Ace Downloads to SD Card--Very slow, what's going on?

I had a previous question before about if the slowness is due to my ISP, but I now know that downloading at home has nothing to do with my ISP. As it stands, it downloads to the SD card painfully slow. I don’t know if it’s the issue with Android 11, because I’m on android 10. I attached the log, let me know if there’s something else you need.

Also, looks like based on my network activity on Plex, it sends a burst, waits 2 minutes, and then does another one. Almost like it just waits rather than downloading most of the time. That’s how stuff is downloading.

Edit: Also should mention I’m downloading music, but I’ve used other programs to download to my phone without issues like this, so yeah.

Are you trying to download a large number of items? There is a known bug around that. Basically, the app is doing a check of things between each Download so it slows things down. I see your music does download in about 7 seconds

We are working on a fix but it’s not ready yet.

To be clear, the slow download on Android 11 is the actual downloading of the file. The pause in between files, that will affect everyone.

Your music appears to take about 6-7s for a 10MB file. That does seem slow.

It is a large number of items. I look forward to the bug fix. Though I have to ask, considering it’s waiting that long between files all together in an album, is that standard behavior? Because I know that TV episodes are much larger and much fewer compared to multiple albums from the same artist, and if there’s 100 songs, it seems like that would take quite a long time regardless of the download speed.

The checks between downloads were not expected to take so long so this was normal. We are changing this so it doesn’t check things that may take a long time.

If you clear out all your Downloads and try downloading 1 album, you’ll see it goes pretty quick. The longer the list of things to download, the longer the delay.

I understood that much (the initial “initializing downloads” thing) but the pauses between the downloads of each individual song are what’s slowing me down. I also replied in the earlier thread after I got the beta, and while it’s a bit better, still not great.

And it turns out that wasn’t the case, I’m still at the slow speeds.

Can you download a video then get me the Android logs so I can check how slow it’s going? Your music downloads earlier appeared to be going fairly quickly.

I’m away from the server and had to do it remotely, but it got done in a timely manner. Before this I was downloading music, and that was slow. I think the issue is the waiting in between each item, and when it comes to music, it’s a bunch of smaller items that make a whole (album, basically) compared to one movie. THAT I think is the issue.

Also, the logs are too big, so I had to separate them. The library plugins log was too big, so to make it all uploadable, I had to make that one its own zip file separate from the rest.

And I added in the server logs for good measure.

Huh, I only see you downloading m4a files. Did these work? I’m seeing some errors. Did you try downloading a video?

I did, I can do it again and send the log again if need be.

M4a files worked, but the time in between was what was taking forever. Once they’re on the phone, they’re good.
