Hi,
I have noticed that after downloading 40+GB of audio/music (downloads use to be super fast) from my Plex server to my mobile device for Plex offline listening, the downloads have come to a crawl. By crawl I mean it sometimes takes a 5MB music file 24 hours to download. It use to take seconds.
My mobile device has over 200GB left of free space with 100GB allocated to Plex downloads.
.
I connect to my server from my mobile device over 5G locally so speed isn’t an issue…just ran a speed test on my mobile device and it showed download 126Mbps.
I also just noticed that even though I removed a song from the download section because it was taking so long, that my mobile device “Notification” still shows that Plex is trying to download that same song… and the progress bar isn’t moving. Not sure how to stop that.
I just stopped the Plex service on my server and restarted my phone at the same time. After that, I restarted Plex on the server and opened Plex back up on my mobile device and in mobile notifications it said it was “Initializing Downloads”…so… I went to the Plex app settings on mobile and cleared Cache and Data…gonna see if that fixed anything.
Stay tuned.
■■■■! All my downloads are missing from Plex downloads on my mobile device.
I chose wrong.
UPDATE!
Seems doing the unthinkable has remedied the slow downloads…wish I would have simply cleared the cache first and tested to see if that was it and I might not have lost all my downloads by clearing the data too.
Live and learn.
