I have multiple android devices and chromcasts that work fine with my plex pass but I am running into an issue on a side loaded version of Plex on an exercise mirror that I received for free with a treadmill. Without a subscription it is useless to have a mirror with a screen so I sideloaded plex thinking I could run some exercise videos or something. When I try to watch a show on the android device it tells me I need to activate and only allows me to see one minute of the video. I am 100% sure I am logged into the correct account and that I have purchased plex pass (lifetime) on that account. The internet browser on the device is ancient and I haven’t been able to get anything more recent to run on it so I can’t log in through the website or even pay the small fee for the app (don’t have the app store and the browser is so out of date that data entry fields don’t show up).
Any tips on getting it to recognize my plex pass? It works on other android devices, just not on this one.
As far as I can see you don’t have a Plex Pass or it would show next to your username in forum. Does it say Plex Pass on your account page at https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/account ?
You may need to contact our billing dept so they can look up transactions and figure out what is going on.
I don’t see anywhere that says plex pass on that page. It does say Go Premium (and I have always thought that that was odd considering I was already “Premium” but when I click on the payments link it says I have paid for a lifetime membership through Google Play. I always just assumed it showed the Go Premium button no matter what? I may be wrong though. The odd thing is that it works on all my other mobile devices. I will contact billing as well. Thanks.
Turns out it was completely my fault. I purchased the lifetime plex pass and then for some reason returned it through Google Play and paid the small fee through the play store for access to view everything. Because the new tablet isn’t connected to my play account it didn’t recognize me. I just always thought I had the plex pass, got it now. Thanks again for the help.
