need a plex pass to be able to watch ?

New Android tablet and question about plex tells me I need a plexpass to be able to watch more then short time of my video’s?
It works fine on my PC and Android Mobiles as well as Ihone but the new Tablet for some reason want me to pay to watch?
I tried uninstall and installed again and same thing, clearly something I am missing but what?
I can find the server (PC) on the tablet.

the app activation is not free you have two choices

  1. get a plex pass subscription. one of the benefits of which is access to all of our paid apps

  2. puchase just the activation for a one time fee. if you already purchased it with your Google Play account for your phone then make sure you downloaded and installed it on your tablet from Google with the same Google Play account that purchased it and hit the “If you already paid tap here …” link

Ok, is this something new that you need a plex pass? I asked some friends and they never heard of it?
And you do not need it on Android phones or Iphones ? Or did not before?
I do not mind to get it, I just what to clarify !

As BigWheel said. You do not need a Plex pass to be able to use the Android app. Chose the one-time purchase option or if you’ve already purchased it before, push that button instead to reclaim it.

This has been the case since I have had Plex. It is for the mobile platforms.

I did not purchased it before, that why I ask, You do not need on a android mobil, at least I did not?

the android app has always had a cost from google play.

If we buy the lifetime option, do we have unlimited devices activated?

For example - my phone, the wife’s phone, and our family tablet (all android). Or, do we have to have a lifetime subscription for EACH device?

The Plex Pass is attributed to your Plex account.
If all these devices are connected to the account with the Plex Pass, then they all will get the Plex Pass benefits.
If your wife has a separate Plex account, you need to invite her into your Plex Home, so she can get that benefit of your Plex pass.
