Android app not working when internet is down

Server Version#: 4.146.0
Player Version#: 2025.16.0 (966828402)

My home internet was down, but my phone’s mobile provider connection wasn’t. I was connected to the wifi like normally.

I had to disable my data connection to my provider for the app to be able to connect to my local server via the wifi.

I’m guessing the app cannot currently distinguish between the wifi not having internet access, and the phone having internet access.
Or it assumes it’s either outside the wifi network, and tries to connect from the outside (which normally works for me) or inside the wifi network and will connect directly.

So I think because the wifi had no internet it assumed I was on 5G and tried to connect via the portforwarding or however it normally connects to my IP address, which didn’t work.

I think this is more to do as a feature of android instead of Plex.

current day androids tend to seamlessly switch between mobile network and wifi. it will remain “connected” to the wifi, but start using the mobile network for everything else.
I assume because of that, the reason it couldn’t connect was because it was not on the same network as a result.
