After manually updating the Plex Server on my Synology to version 1.24.5.5173-7000, my Android and Android TV (NVidia Shield) devices cannot connect to the server. The Android app is version 8.26.2.29389 (fdca424e). I have tried doing a manual connection. I have also checked that port 32400 is reachable from the Android devices to the Synology. Accessing Plex via the web interface from a laptop on the same network works without a problem. The “Authorized devices” screen on plex.tv shows the host as unavailable. Any ideas?
I have exactly the same issue. Using server 1.25 (Plex pass user) on my Synology DS420+.
And the latest client on my ShieldTV. The ShieldTV app says my server is unavaible.
I also have an old Chromebox with OpenElec where I use the official Plex for Kodi app. That is still working fine. Plex on my iPhone also works fine and the web app also works fine.
The issue only appears on the ShieldTV.
Uninstall the Plex app from the shield.
Restart the shield.
Reinstall then link it again (http://plex.tv/link)
If that doesn’t work, I’ll redo my shield and find out where it’s breaking
Thanks @ChuckPa. I haven’t had a chance to do the Shield, but I tried on my Android phone and got the same problem. Perhaps it’s a different issue?
On plex.tv in “Authorized devices” the host shows as unavailable.
Hmmmm… rebooting the Synology fixed things for some reason.
Rebooting the Synology didn’t help for me. But I’ve installed the latest PMS update (8 december) and now everything is fine again.
