I noticed the notification release for Plex for Android 6.6.0 today and the new support for Android Auto. Does it work with Android Auto available from the Play Store or will it only work with the in-Dash Android Auto systems?
Android Auto support in Plex works with both the Android Auto app as well as builtin Dash Android Auto systems.
@sixones Do you need to do anything special to get Plex to work with Android Auto in-dash units?
When my phone is connected, Plex does not appear in the list of media apps. I have a Pioneer AVH-4100NEX head unit. Plex v6.6.0.2251
Same here. It’s not showing up in the list of supported apps in the app or in my Honda.

Sadly we hit some issues with deploying our latest build, v6.6 will go public on Monday in a staged rollout, this version will include Android Auto support. The current version on beta v6.6.0.2251 does not have Android Auto support enabled at the moment.

As mentioned above, it will be released when 6.6 is published, which is still paused. Betas won’t have it enabled. Please be patient

Received an update yesterday and Plex is now working in Android Auto App. Much easier to use with the larger buttons. Thank you for the Android Auto support.
