Server Version#: 1.21.0.3711-b509cc236
Player Version#: 8.12.4.22902(97c4e5ff)
Android phone plays back live TV fine for a period of time. Eventually it will get into a state where playback stutters - stops and starts - and displays a spinning circle in between the stops and starts . Cycling between states happens at about 1 to 2 second rate. It keeps doing this until I exit out of the app.
Looking for help resolving the issue. I’ve attached the logs from the phone. If anything else is needed, let me know.
Also, should note that the same thing is happening on my Nvidia Shield.
Shield TV Pro connected via ethernet to Linux Plex server with HD Homerun 3 tuner.
Plex server: 1.21.3.4021
Plex app: 8.12.4.22902
This setup had been working flawlessly for over a year.
On the plus side I have taken the hint and disabled automatic updates on the Shield so that vendors can’t replace working apps with crap untested software. So, thanks (I guess) Plex!
I’ve been having a similar issue on an NVidia Shield Pro while watching live tv from a HDHomeRun. It only does it on the Shield, I can use the native HDHomeRun app fine on the Shield but Plex stutters with the circle on the screen every couple minutes or so…
I’m running Plex App 8.13.2.23227 and Server 1.22.0.4145
There’s been no movement on this issue, it’s still randomly freezing. About a week ago I installed Emby and have been streaming live tv off that for the last week. Works great, hours at a time of live TV with no hiccups or pauses.
I think I’m done with Plex as a live tv server. The interface on Plex is better than Emby, but that doesn’t do me any good if the content its self won’t play.
Maybe I’ll check back in 9 months and see if there’s a solution that doesn’t involve sideloading an older version of the player.
