When downloading a movie for offline viewing the error messages are unhelpful in resolving the problem , they simply say “there was an error downloading this file. Swipe to remove or tap to retry.”

Please enhance the error messages here - is the directory out of space ? Is there a problem writing to the local storage? Is there a problem with ssl certs? Is this a permission problem with my user on Plex and the server? Etc…etc. there is currently no way I can tell from the client side what happened.

Additionally - and as a bonus - logging these kind of errors server-side so that the server collects errors from the clients will allow the server admin to track down problems with the server or clients proactively without the client user needing to report things. I am imagining a ‘statuspage.io’ type error/reporting tool? Perhaps just tell people to point Grafana at their logs? Anyhow - this would be super helpful.

I just can’t download, have no idea why. And I have not been able to do so since they changed sync for this new method. Sync worked flawlessly for me.

They keep adding features like integrating netflix and hbo max, but simple stuff like “download” is not sorted out yet. And the change was forced, I had something that worked without any problem, reliably, that was removed to give place to something that simply don’t work for me at all!

The worst part is there is no support, even for paid customers. I can’t get someone from plex staff to talk to me.
