[Android] Plexamp, download song files to local storage

I love the fact that with Plexamp my music is at my disposal anywhere I go, but in my phone I have other music players that have much finer playback settings (i.e. Poweramp) that play files from local storage. I propose that Plexamp lets me download my songs from my server to my phone (in a folder of my choosing) so that others music players can pick them up.

I would love this as well! I used to use Subsonic and Dsub and do the same thing and it was great. I believe it also had a toggle to turn it off and on in the Dsub app settings.

You’re probably already aware of this, but the Android Plex app is compatible with Poweramp.
My Plex music files are found in the Android/data/com.plexapp.android/files/media_parts folder and I’ve added that to my folders in Poweramp.

I agree it would be nice if Plexamp could do the same. It would allow me to uninstall the Plex app as I don’t use it for other media.

I was not aware of that, thank you for pointing it out. Unfortunately, I didn’t find that folder in my phone, but it is probably because I haven’t downloaded any media from my Plex server onto my phone.

Still, as you said, it would be nice to have this as part of Plexamp’s functionality.

also highly recommend adding a download button for each song and album. It would be great if the button could be placed in the options page for easy access.
