Android PMS will not cast local media to Roku tv plex app

I cannot use my phone as a media server and cast to Roku PMS like i have prior, although Roku can see my desktop PMS to play videos and everything just fine. Nothing has been changed in the router except for some port forwarding that i tried to no avail so i reverted back to original router settings that worked before and still nothing. Is it a router setting i need to change? My android phone worked just fine a few months ago on plex and i was casting vids with ease. All servers are on same account and have tried everything through research.

Weird things are happening

  1. Roku sees my phone but says it cannot connect
  2. Desktop app sees phone but cannot connect, Asks me if i want to claim server then after clicking it says “server settings are unavailable” in settings.
  3. Even though the above, If my desktop PMS is running i am still able to connect from phone to desktop PMS and control casting to roku pms to play/pause/skip/choose next video everything.

I just tried using a seperate app called “Xcast” and streams my local files from android seamlessly to my roku tv, thats bitter sweet. I would rather use plex tho as i have done this exact type of thing prior on plex. and it is far superior to Xcast. Im not sure what im missing

After reading things more thoroughly it appears i need to “sync” the files on my desktop to my android and thats premium… I swear in the past i was able to just simply load video files on my phone, then stream those local files through plex onto my tv like i always have in the past, am i taking crazy pills? they must have just made that a premium and boy does that kill plex for me.

If anyone is having this same problem or is interested i recommend “Xcast” it will let you use your phone as a portable video server for free. takes a big load off my computer while gaming. Thanks for the help anyway plex fam.
