I have seen a lot of post on this error but no resolutions, Where is the plex team on this?
Windows 10 up to date with Plex Media Server also up to date and Plex player on my android also up to date. I just started getting this error today. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the player on my android and cleared all settings and cache to only have it do the same thing.
I have also tried adjusting the transcoding for playback on the player with the same results. It is very flakey - I got it to play for 15 minutes, got walked away, came back to resume and without changing anything the error was back and can not get it to start up again.
Looks like I found out why… A recent overnight update all of a sudden made my tablet/device no longer compatible to use the Plex app. Seriously!?! Top Item in image. plex-not-compatible-anymore|552x367

I am receiving the same error.
“Unable to play media”
I have several local friends able to play off their servers, but not mine. (Have Plex Pass)
I even had a friend from Aussie attempt to help as well, and wasn’t able to play either. (Doesn’t have (Plex Pass)
Weirdly, I am able to play content from my android phone. (Plex Pass)
Hopefully I’m not hijacking your post, but I’m receiving the same error and have been attempting to figure it out for about a week now.
