This is a problem I have been having since the beginning. I have installed Plex Media server on my Synology NAS and for the most part, it has been quite awesome. I have been streaming movies and box sets to my laptop, android phone and smart tvs for some time and the experience has been great.
Recently I have purchased an Android TV for the living room and this has not been quite as good. The app is a little slow but the biggest problem occurs when it comes to watching feature length movies, it starts fine for about 3 seconds, the video skips forward for about 1 second and then loses sync with audio and the longer you watch, the worse the sync issue gets. Transcoding helps a little bit but it is still a fair bit off.
If I watch it on my laptop, the audio and video sync perfectly over wireless and wired.
If I watch it on my android device, the audio and video sync perfectly, wireless only.
If I watch it on my Samsung TV, the audio and video sync perfectly over wireless and wired.
This issue with audio sync only happens with my Android TV. This has led me to conclude that the issue must be with the Plex app. Any ideas?
