Latest Android update on all of our Shield players triggers random subtitles, when a show plays and triggers subtitles, looking at the settings while playing, subtitles are still off. not sure the bug in the update, as it is random on when it happens with various shows and movies.
I’m seeing this as well. Sometimes only after a couple episodes have been played. Last night I noticed it didn’t just show subtitles even though subtitles were off, it also started playing the secondary audio track (commentary) even though it showed the first track as being active.
I have to switch to a subtitle track and then switch back to disabled to stop the subtitles.

Same thing here. Shield TV android 11 update. Random subtitles are selected on kids shows. No subtitles are chosen as a default. When choosing a sub, none is selected, but subs play anyway.
Only way to disable is to select a subtitle then go back to none.
Having the same issue. What is going on with the Android TV Client? Plex, why is it deteriorating so rapidly?
