Single Season, Episode thumbnails not showing

Server Version#:1.14.1.5488 Player Version#: 7.10.0.8875 For TVShow content, my server is set to NOT display seasons if only one season. Single season episodes show series poster, not the episode poster

My wife noticed something strange today. When viewing a TV show that has only a single season, the episodes display the series poster, not the poster for the episode itself. But viewing a TV show with multiple seasons, after clicking into a specific season, the episodes have the episode poster. This inconsistency seems like a bug. It’s not necessarily a bug, as the ability to bypass the season page was never implemented in the Android TV app. As a feature, it is a low priority and the team just hasn’t had time to implement this. I’ll double check with the team again. It was fixed in the mobile app, so maybe it will be an easy change for Android TV.

I got it. It’s not a big priority. But right now you are doing the roundup for UNO right? So this should be definitely on the list.

We are aware of this issue, unfortunately it’s not a trivial change, it will be resolved while we make improvements to these screens as part of UNO.

It’s been two months and the problem is still there on Shield TV and Fire TV both. It is really annoying, because I like to keep single season shows flattened, but seeing the series poster instead of the episode thumbnail looks absolutely terrible. I really hope this gets fixed soon.

this is for years now and will take another few to get fixed, trust me.
i just disabled the half-baked feature just like all the others (online media sources)

I don’t have the luxury of disabling it, as I have many, many series with just one season, or in the case of documentaries, it also needs to be flattened. They seriously need to fix this bug.

By the way, what do you mean by “just like all the others (online media sources)”? What are “online media sources”?

I just move over from Emby and on my 30 days trial, Everything look so sleek and beautiful on my large screen Android TV box until I navigate to series and my goodness, the whole thing look horrid! I get rows and rows of the same poster. Spend hours wrecking my brain to going through the settings, I thought it have to be in a setting somewhere, I would never of thought they leave the same bugs in does years? How often do apps get updated? Geewiz come on!!
Note: it CAN NOT be turn off for recorded TV it’s always goes straight to episode view regardless of what the settings is.

Indeed! It’s a huge annoyance. I opened my own thread topic on it here, Single Series TV show displays series poster for ever episode and no title . It’s been reported to them on other threads, too, for over a year. It’s super annoying. And yes, the app does get updated pretty regularly. They just don’t seem to care about this issue.
