In my web app the icon notifying me that there are announcements won’t go away even when I look at the announcement. Is anyone else having this issue?
Yup. Every time I log in, for any user I login as.
Well, at least it’s not me. Hopefully it’s on the devs radar.
BTW, how do you get an image in your profile icon? I’ve never found a way to do that.
I’m glad it’s not just me! It’s funny the little things that eat away at your soul. It seems like this is a regression though, I swear I’ve had this problem before.
Same issue here… announcements always has (1).
Berkjay - if you use Gravatar (http://en.gravatar.com/) and sign up with an email associated with your Plex account, it will automatically pull it in. Surprised me since I’ve used Gravatar for years for forums and other sites and I didn’t have to do anything to get my avatar to show. I setup my Plex Account and it automatically pulled my icon in without me doing anything.
There was a time where it was always (6).
PMS doesn’t actually keep track of what notifications you’ve read, making the count effectively useless. Basically a bug over a year old that has yet to be resolved.
I have this bug too, but normally after going to the announcements page in PMS then going back home it would clear these. This time I even tried click on all 6 links and opening in new tab and won’t go away.
Since it knows about announcements it should know when they have been read right? Wonder why they are stuck.
Guessing typical Plex support will be… they won’t reply or acknowledge the bug then a update will solve the problem.
Plex support should take ownership of this thread, lock it and pin to top showing they know about it and since its locked they have confirmed it is a real bug.
This has been a problem for as long as I’ve been using Plex. (2 years or so, now?) And I think it stems from using local cookies. Once you view the announcements on the browser, you won’t get it back for that local site. But as soon as you try accessing your PMS through a DDNS it’s back again. Different site, even though it’s the same machine. Different cookie, so announcements come up…
Annoying? Yeah. Earth shattering? Not really…
Since the forums keep bugging me to mark this as resolved, I am making another post to do so. Seems like the bug has been fixed.
