I have this announcement notification that keeps showing up. I click on the announcement to view it, it goes away for a bit, then after a bit it comes up. I’ve “cleared” it a dozen times now. Is there a trick to make this go away?
Tell your web browser to not delete the cookies from the domain plex.tv
when it is closed.
If you use several Plex user accounts, keep in mind that each user gets these announcements individually.
And how does one do that in the Plex For Windows client? (1.54.2.3267-d35cd36f)
The new announcement pushed out from plex yesterday keep coming back as unread even after it’s viewed.
Its nothing to do with cookies, once viewed plex should register its read like the other announcements. It doesn’t for the new one which is the problem.
Web and desktop clients are effected.
I second that, happening for me on multiple clients. very annoying.
Since this never happens otherwise that sounds like a reasonable guess
Don’t play to their inability to properly mark something as read (this is a bug), it only takes 1 session for you to read an announcement.
If you open an announcement on ANY device then plex should update the bit on their servers that marks it as ‘read’. I mainly open plex in 1 browser on 1 computer and do not close it nor reboot that computer and announcement shows up every couple of hours. Plex bug.
@BigWheel , Plex should mark ‘isRead’ (or whatever the field is) with a ‘true’ setting when we have read the ‘Pro week is back’, as I have 5 times, in an effort to get the announcement dot to go away.
Yeah I saw a few folks talking about this internally this morning. They are looking into why it is not being marked as read.
